        So does anyone have one?

Just a bunch of rabbits that all live together?

Indoor or outside, just running free in a large group and getting along?

I was thinking of using a retaining wall in my backyard to make an out door pen for my buns. I would say it’s about 15ft long, 3 ft tall and has two short sides about 3 ft out. So I would add an aditional 2-3ft of metal screening on the short sides, then of course, a long, 15ft screen. Lastly, a screen top to keep my dogs and predators out. I would put plywood on one side as a roof and maybe on the outter wall to keep rain and snow out. Rest would be open to rain and everything. I’m thinking to put wire mesh on the bottom, just cover it all! That way, they can’t dig out. I would put top soil on that and grass seed.

Would the buns stomp out all the grass?? I don’t plan to leave them out there 24/7. Just a few hours a day on nice days.

Some members have trios and quartets. I don’t know if we have any members who have larger groups than that who are actually bonded together. I would recommend any rabbits you have be housed indoors, and then maybe you can have some SUPERVISED outdoor playtime. Also, all rabbits in this group would have to be spay/neutered to prevent pregnancy (if opposite sexes) and to prevent fighting (regardless of sex.)

There was an older gentlement in my area that we ended up rescuing about 20-25 bunnies from. They had probably a 20ft by 10ft encloser with a plywood shelter and an old swingset. The bunnies were out there full time and for a few years but the encloser was muddy, had holes in the fence and burrows into the ground. None of the rabbits were fixed and they were all in kinda bad shape. All the females were pregnant and their fur and ears had “war wounds”. He stated it was hard to keep up and he had a few bunnies go missing and he’s not sure what happened to them, they got out or were taken by predators. Overall I don’t thinkn an outdoor colony was a good idea as it was really difficult to catch them all as they kept disappearing into the ground. Might be better supervised in a covered x pen.
