Ken trimmed our (2) japanese maple’s today & saved some of the twigs…can our bunz have them?  I’m not too versed on the types that are OK…I just know NO REDWOOD.  We will hold off awaiting your expert advise…Thanks in advance.

I’m readign that regular maple branches are safe, but they should be dried first, and make sure no pesticides or anythign was used on them.

Thanks…didn’t even think about drying them out first but OF COURSE .  I wonder what the difference is between the maple -vs- japanese maple.  Maybe its just smaller like american eggplant -vs- japanese eggplant .  I’m going to have to look into it further but at the minimum we’ll dry them out until we know for sure.  I guess Ken use to feed his first bunny, Phineaus them and he LOVED them.  That was before knowing about the HRS, this site, etc…  Phin ate many things we would never even think of feeding our bunz now.  He ended up w/cancer @ 3 1/2 and had some hind leg issues as well.  We refer to him lovingly as our “test bunny” (NOT to make funny of our errors – he lived a wonderful life and was super easy).

Ken bundled the twigs/branches & put them in the garage earlier so I’ll have him place them somewhere to dry them out in hopes we will find out it is OK to give them .
