i need a better cage for mocha. cuz i just went up stairs to check on mocha about 10 minuts ago and i saw him behind his cage! ( he had that look on his face that said ” i am in trubble”) i thought he was stuck at first but then he hopped backwards and i new he wasn’t stuck. any ways after i got him out of there i put the x pen against the wall so he couldn’t get back there but now he  is trying to pull the cage! i need a better cage for him because he is always pushing it and pulling it, like when i go to bed and shut his cage for the night he bangs his head or somthing against the cage to try to get it open and moves the cage a little. do you guys have any ideas of a better cageing system for him thats easy to clean and not to expencive?

Xpens are tricky because some buns do try to move them around. Do you have any NIC grids? You could zip tie pieces across the panels so that they don’t bend at the hinges. This would make it sturdier.

NIC grids are rated to hold up to 25 lbs when used with the connectors they come with

The thing to be careful of is to only use untreated wood. Treated wood has chemicals on it that are hazardous to a bunny if chewed.
You can get some untreated wood of different thicknesses, cut to size, at places like Home Depot. Might want to design a little bit to use in the habitat and have it cut to size and add it. I’m looking at that board you have covered in there which is why I’m making the suggestion. Check out the Habitats section on this site for some great pix and ideas.

But I agree, it IS nice and roomy.

the only piece of wood that is treated is one of the ones supporting the shelf and i am replacing it with a different piece of wood tomorrow its just to dark right now to walk out into the cold and dark to the shed. but i am definitely going to switch it with an untreated piece. no other wood in there is treated. i am going to have my dad cut the wood to the right size when he comes home from Utah. (he has a conference there)
