        Hey everyone!

I haven’t been on lately, but I try to stop by and keep up with everyone’s buns..I have been meaning to ask a question though..

Nixie absolutely loves cardboard, but I’m worried she might be eating too much of it. If I give her a paper towel roll she’ll eat the entire thing, and I just made her a little cardboard house a few days ago and she is constantly eating it. She has unlimited hay and food (also another question) and I haven’t noticed it affecting her in any way but I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t horrible for her.

So my next question I just remembered…when do I start limiting her food? She’s a little over 3 months now and still eating “junior” food (alfalfa based I believe).

Otherwise, Marlee is doing pretty good..she is coming up to me a lot more as she sees Nix getting attention, but she still doesn’t let me touch her. I haven’t put them together much since Nix is still not spayed, but they are always laying together against the xpen connected to Nixie’s cage. It’s so cute, although Marlee still gives Nix the occasional nip through the bars. Any suggestions on what to do about that or is it fine?

        Thanks

Hmm the cardboard.  How long does it take your bun to eat the paper towel roll.  If within 1 day I would be concerned .   It is fiber but I would rather they be eating hay.

My Boo eats the cardboard but not much.  I have not had any who eat the cardboard like yours does.  My others dont’ eat it.   It is normal for them to eat SOME cardboard but a whole paper towel roll if under 1 day is a bit much in my opinion.

Cardboard is a great favorite for buns,.

Molly loves cardboard box…she eats a lot of it. I don’t mind as long as it is not colourful or something like that. It keeps her occupied and happy – and stops her from eating our floor! Some bunnies have a strong need for chewing and not providing them with such toys is a shame. If you prefer she chews something else, you can get her some branches from the garden.

As long as it doesn’t have alot of ink on the cardboard it’s fine. It’s digestible. The only other problem would be if your bunny fills up on cardboard and misses out on getting in more nutrition from his regular food.

Oh no, she definately finishes her food quickly and eats tons of hay in addition to a lot of cardboard. I’m pretty sure she would eat anything I give to her. Thanks for the info..I just made her a new cardboard play box.
