Ok I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a website or something that sells wood stove pellets or whatever you recommend for litter that is cheap.  I cant keep buying bags or bedding that cost 12 bucks a bag and lasts only for 2-3 weeks.

        any suggestions would be awesome!

        thanks!

Wood Stove pellets are a seasonal product and you’re lucky they are now in season!

Big box hardware stores tend to carry them – I get mine at Lowes or Menards.  Look near the humidifiers and heaters.  I get a 40 lb bag for abour $4, and 4 bags with 1 bun lasts me a year.

They are really too heavy to mail-order because the shipping would be expensive.

Feline Pine is a safe wood stove type pellet and it is sold in my local grocery store in small bags, and huge bags in the pet store. Seems very affordable.

Make sure wood stove pellets are accelerant-free. Try hardwarestores. Also, pellet wood horse bedding at tractor or farm supply stores – such as Equine Pine or Stall DRY.
Another is Aspen supreme (pet store and possible grocery)
I’ve used woody pet for a while. http://www.woodypet.com

You can also get horse stall pelleted bedding- it runs about the same price as wood stove pellets.  I just bought some at Tractor Supply Co- which is a chain store.

I used to use wood stove pellets- but since I started leasing a horse I am at TSC more in the last 6 months than I had ever been in a “farm/tractor/etc” store in my life before.  Also local feed stores should carry the 40 or 50# bag of pellets most likely- I can’t remember the exact size but the bags run about $6- give or take a dollar.

Also if you buy anythng on line that weighs this much – you are going to be paying alot in shipping and it will not be affordable either.

I also use a horse stall pellet like Katnip does.

Also if you live in areas like I do where it does not get very cold (usually) the wood stove pellets aren’t even sold anywhere.

Actually I have to say $12 a bag and lasts 2 to 3 weeks sounds very affordable to me.

I bought mine at a stove and fireplace center. They usually carry it, if not they can probably tell you who will. They will generally sell it all year too.

Feline Pine is outrageously expensive here. It’s almost $20 for a 40 lb bag. Equine Fresh is the same exact thing and I pay $7 for a 40 lb bag. I have 7 rabbits and 2 ferrets so 4 bags will last me about a month. I get it at either Tractor Supply or Booth Feeds.
