I just found out that our vet that i took  Mocha to get neutered at has had a history of some of the animals he does surgery on get gangrene! its some sort of infection that you can get when you have an open wound. i don’t know much about it but i am probbly never going their again. he wasn’t a rabbit sav vy vet and i guess i learned my lesson. at least mocha didn’t get it. the only problem is is that he was only 15 minuts away and what if there was an emergency? should i drive an hour and a half to the next closest vet? any way i am going to take him to oak view now, they are a rabitt savvvy vet there is a link on the house rabbit sosity list.

Awe I would dfinitely prefer the rabbit savy vet  .     Your bunny glad he didn’t get gangrene.  yeah that is when the tissue dies and have to remove it.  Turns green then black.

My downstairs neighbor had that and they took his legs off.  Hurt really bad.

I would think if that has happened with this vet quite often that it stems from an infection or some sort.

Does anyone know if there is a service to check up on a vet.   I know they have that for doctors.  If any lawsuits complaints and such. IF so you could check out the vets

It sounds like you have found a better option for a vet now and I would ask them who they recommend for an emergency or after hours vet.
