As the title says, Bo is poohin by the cat litter box, no urine from what I’ve seen.  A friend of mine says it’s because he smells the cats (urine and pooh) which is why he is going there.  Any suggestions as to what to do?  I live in a one bedroom apartment and I have the cat litter box tucked into a corner, so putting a bunny litter box could be an option with some fancy rearraging, but I’d rather keep his pooh to his cage.  Not unless its’ safe for him and the cats to use the same box, but I doubt it do to taxoplasmosis and stuff….

        Any suggestions?

Cat litter isn’t good for bunnies, especially the clumping kind. It gets stuck in their tummies, die to bunnies liking to sample everything. And its too dusty.. can give them serious respiratory issues.

I would put a little fence around the kitty box, maybe with NIC grids. The cats should easily be able to jump in, but hopefully it will keep the bunny out (though bunnies can jump high too, so if he really wants to get back there it may not stop him).

I would get him a cat litter box of his own to use, just because I think it’s easier to clean a box than a whole cage, but if you’re happy with your cage set up that should be fine too. I would just work out a way to keep him away from the cat box (clumping litter and taxoplasmosis are both issues)

Thank you very much, Bo does have his own litter box, which he used regularly, so I’ll look into those grid thingys and will just have to keep an eye on him.
