So it’s been a point of much joy for me that Leroy has impeccable litter habits.  The only poops that are ever out of his litter box are the ones that get flung out when he over zealously jumps out of his box, and he’s never peed anywhere but in his box.  (Well ok, he peed on my bed once when I first brough him home to mark my bed as his )

But this morning when I went to let Leroy out of his cage and feed him breakfast…. there was a HUGE puddle of pee soaking his bed and all over the floor of his cage.  It was cold too so he peed awhile before I woke up.  I’m concerned becasue he never does this.  I cleaned his litter box last night, so it’s not like it was too dirty for him to use.  And I can’t imagine that it’s because he couldn’t make it to the box in time, it’s RIGHT there.  There was normal poop AND pee in the box this morning.  He ate all his hay last night and he ate his teaspoon of pellets this morning with his usual enthusiasm.  So I don’t think he’s sick.  His tummy feels soft like usual and since he’s eating I don’t think it’s stasis.

Could he have just had a rebellious moment?  Did he have a scary dream and ended up “wetting the bed”? Is he becoming incontinent?  (He’s less than 2 years old) I left for church after cleaning him up and giving him a new bed, and when I came back, his bed was still dry.  I’ll keep an eye out for more accidents, but I’m hoping this was just a one time fluke!  Anyone else dealt with this?

Also…. another reason that I’m goving to have a heart attack way before my time… Leroy was running around this morning and decided he wanted to sit on my desk chair.  He’s been up there before, so I know he can make the jump, but for some reason, this time he misjudged the jump and just barely got his front feetsies up on the chair.  Since he had no traction and nothing to hold onto to pull himself  up, he slid right off!  He landed on his bum and flipped onto his back and hit his head on the handle of one of the drawers in my desk!  It made a HUGE thunk! And I saw the whole thing! Oh my gosh.  He seemed fine, and ran away from me, annoyed, when I was trying to coddle him   He’s fine now, but it scared the crap out of me!

My first thought is UTI. I would take him to a vet if he does it again and see if that’s the reason.

I’m glad he’s ok after his fall! I would freak out too if I saw that.

Hmmm. I didn’t event think about a UTI. And yeah, I will definitely take him to the vet if this happens again.

I think the same as Elrowhen. If it continuous then I would do a vet check-up.

It was definately pee? Not spilt water from a bowl or leaky water bottle?
If it is a one off, maybe he got a sudden fright?….
If not a one off – then ditto, off to the vet.

Yep it was pee. I could smell it and I used white paper towels to clean it up and the liquid was yellow.

I’ll keep you posted on how Leroy is doing. So far no more accidents

I’m a worrywart, but I would take him in for a quick check up just in case. One or the other, I’d watch him, but both combined is just a little moe that might be related.

Hmm was it the same nite that he fell?     It might have put him off for a time.   Glad he is back to normal and hope he stays that way.

BT, he fell Sunday morning. After I found the pee. It was just an unrelated scary story that I wanted to share.

He’s been fine so far – no more accidents. I’m still watching him closely

Is Leroy OK? How is he now?

Sorry, I didn’t see this until now. Leroy has been great, no more issues since then so I think it was just a fluke. If it happens again, I’ll take him into the vet.
