        Hello Everyone!

It has been about 3 weeks now since I started the bonding … we started off in a neutral place for almost 2 weeks and then we recently moved them into my room where they individually came out for play time and now I have Buzz light year and sweet pea running around my room together- ….he goes in her cage and she goes in his…. but only on the first level- if she comes up to his top level he frantically grunts and charges at her – he doesn’t bite or attack but more so scares her crazy so she runs down to the first level….. I don’t know why he would do this other than his food dishes being up there… I have fed them together on floor outside of the cages and he even goes up to her top level and eats with her there – but she is NOT allowed to come up by him… any thoughts?  I mean he is completely fine with her otherwise…. she can be in the bottom level but NOT the top…

I plan to completely rebuild their cages in 2 weeks after buzz has his last tooth removed and he is done being grumpy… and combine them so that way it will be a completely new neutral territory to both of them and then I will feel safer letting them sleep together….. you think this will help?

im not very good with the bonding thing but my boys sort of had this issue. they both had seperate cages and they were fine together, but when jack went inside charlies cage, charlie would hump him or chase him around. not in a mean way but really annoying and persistent, so i couldnt put them together. (charlie wasthen i made a pen out of nic cubes and charlie has never humped jack again. the pen is in the exact spot that charlies cage was in so i thought i may have a problem, but i didnt. maybe after u rearrange it they will be better. im sure someone else will know more than me though!

It is a territorial thing. His cage is his cage! No buns allowed in it – especially by HIS food. When you break down their cages and rebuild it into a new one, there shouldn’t be any standing issues – especially if you also get new litter boxes and food bowls.
