Squirt keeps trying to bite my feet (maybe they really stink or something?) and I don’t know how to stop that.  I have baskets in there and wood but really wants my feet, what the heck?  I think he gets bored sometimes, really is interested in the cat and my pekignese dog more than me- boo hoo…kidding.  I can only put so much stuff down and sit with him for so long.  I don’t know whats up with that biting and how to stop it.  I just don’t know enough about all their behaviors, the last bunny I had was low key and older so this ones young and spunky.  Squirt keep wanting on my bed and pee’d on it last night so he not allowed up there now (if he stops, in time maybe.)  Can you give me advice on the biting thing and how to stop it?  He’ll even follow my feet if I move to get at them again!

Has he been neutered yet? If not, you may want to get him done soon!

To get him to stop, make a loud “I’m in pain” noise every time he does. Also tell him NO loudly, and if necessary, get a squirt bottle and squirt him with water. You gotta show him who the boss is

It does sound like teenager behavior and time to get that neuter done.

The pain noise should be a high pitched squeal, which is what bunnies do in pain. NO is good too, and maybe put some shoes on to just calm him down.
If he’s licking your feet before he bites, then he’s getting excited and giving you kisses first.

Oh, and also, when they’re young they don’t know how to control their teeth as well, but as they get older they use them like a paw, to get you to move or to get your attention, but rarely will bite down and break the skin. It’s just a way of using their mouths to communicate displeasure or a “move it” message. If he growls when he bites, he’s mad. If he repeatedly breaks the skin, it’s too aggressive and he may be sick or have a behavior problem, but that’s very unlikely and rare.

Hi, He cannot be fixed yet, only eleven weeks I think.  Vet won’t do it until four monthes for male.  Yes, he is still doing it, I do a little shrek and it must really make him mad cause he goes off and won’t come back.  Did it about a dozen times last night but not as bad today.  I think he is testing his teeth becausse it does not seem to be like he is wanting to hurt me.  He does not do the kiss thing…too busy.

This might sound like a radical thought – but how about shoes? or maybe slippers? Hee, hee.

Actually my buns will nibble on J’s toe when he is working at the desk and they want attention. But they never do this to me.

Have you tried thumping when he does this – not joking. He might understand what you are trying to say if you thump.

Bella Bunneh does the nipping on my feet or cuff of my pants leg when she thinks I’m too close to the Chinchillas. She doesn’t want me near Palay, especially.. Palay is my young female Chin, and she’s quite rude to Bella.. kacking and huffing at her. LOL! When I tell Bella, “NO! Momma doesn’t like a toofy bunneh!” ..she looks up at me with the sad face and head butts me to move. I’m being taught well, I’d say.

Maybe there is something causing your bun to be jealous and this is how he tells you.

My bun was a real nipper when he was a baby. Never ever hard, and usually on clothing, but he seemed to think it was fun, especially when he got excited. When he started it, I would just get up and walk away, then come back in a minute or so. He quickly learned that his playmate left every time he nipped and he hasn’t done it in a long time.

Of course, this only works if your bunny wants you to stay and play 😛 If he’s trying to get rid of you, walking away will only reinforce the nipping. Though because of his age and how you describe it, it sounds more like play to me than trying to get you to leave.

The fact that he is following and nipping (does he circle?) sounds like he may actually be working his way towards mating. I recommend getting him a toy bunny friend that he can work off his ”’eh…hem….energy” with. When he comes around and does this to your feet, you can redirect him by circling him with the toy bunny and see if his real intentions become apparent.     This may help settle him down until he gets neutered.
