  ok so Loki is my first rabbit ever and im guessing she is molting? She is shedding like CRAZY and some of her hair is a lot shorter then the rest. How can I help her along with getting rid of all of this hair! Its kind of driving me crazy! I was brushing and removing some of the hair today but wasnt sure if using my fingers to get the hair thats shedding out (plaucking it out but doesnt hurt her, she just sat there) is good or not?

  Yes it definitely sounds like she is in the middle of a big shed (or molt). Plucking those tufts of fur sticking out is fine (just be gentle). You’ll probably want to get a good bunny brush. There are a lot of different options out there, I use a rubber tipped brush that I got from the cat grooming aisle, you want to get something that won’t hurt your bunny’s skin because their skin is pretty delicate and thin. Also, just petting and using your hands to collect as much extra fur as possible is also very helpful, the less fur your bunny ingests the better!

  OH the BIG shed.   I hear members here tend to like the hairbuster    you can find it online.   I have one and I love it.   Also slicker brush too.
  
  Some members get those grooming gloves they work pretty good. Personally I dont’ care for them. Though many people do.
  
  You can also get a wet washcloth and rub his fur back n forth and it will stick to the washcloth. Using your wet hand is better. I dont’ know how you would get all that hair out of a wet washcloth.
  
  And not so wet as to have water dripping off it isnt’ good to get bunny wet.   Yeah shedding time.
  
  The other day I actually pulled Ruby’s fur off my nose and OUT of my nose too. How it got in there I don’t know.   On 2nd thought probably cuz I hold her close to my face lol.
  
  Plucking is fine too. Just be sure to pull the lose tufts out and not the regular hair. I am a plucker one of my buns shed that way. IT ended up that I had over plucked her. Poor thing. She had a bald spot.

  It’s a big pain when they shed, and with buns, it happens so OFTEN (4x a year!) Get into a good routine of daily (or every other day) brushing and vacuum up often what is around her area.
  
  It’s an annoyance for us, but it could pose a health risk for them if they ingest too much fur. So you want to make sure she is eating a lot of hay during a molt and make sure she always has fresh water. You might even want to get a nice special hay like orchard or meadow to try to entice her to eat more.

  Oh she eats TONS of hay, we go through a 96oz bag of hay within 2 and a half weeks! Which reminds me I need to find a cheaper place to buy hay, also I am going to have to switch her to orchard anyways because of my allergies (some people on here recommended it for allergies). Ya I dont brush her as much as I’d like, especially now that is winter, when it was warmer I would take her outside and brush her every day. Hopefully wednesday is warmer and I can take her outside and brush and pluck out there. I got a lot out last night too. Her hair is just so fluffy and it just blows and sticks everywhere!
  
  It is just crazy though I have never seen any animal like this! With the whole body being full of hair! I plucked some and you can see where her normal hair is and her hair that needs to come out! Its quite longer then her normal coat!

  You might want to look into getting the big boxes of Oxbow Orchard hay. A 50lb box will last quite awhile and it’s only about $60-70. That’s what I use and it makes me so happy thinking of the money I have saved!

  Mine love the big boxes of hay, I get them from the sanctuary in Dallas and don’t have to pay shipping. (plus I get to see all the buns which makes the drive very worth while)

  ok I will try that! I am also going to try and look at some of the farms in the area to see what kind of hay they are selling (I live really close to the amish, so in sure they have hay, and it will def be fresh).
