        i’m going to be building a hide out for my rabbits and i was wondering which kind of wood is safe for this. thanks!

          Typically pine is a good choice. Just make sure it’s untreated with any kind of sealant.

          Cedar is not ok. I believe oak is also not good, but I don’t remember why?

              yes untreated pine is fine. If the hideout is MOSTLY pine (solid pine walls & top), then besides the entrance/exit just make sure to have a few holes throughout the top and or sides for enough air flow to prevent issues with pine phenols (that was the advice I was given a long while back from HRS when I first constructed Jack and Rucy’s pine hidey house.

              You will want to avoid Redwood – it’s toxic when chewed on.
