True.. I just rarely think to log into it. I’m usually all over the place on the computer, I forget its even there sometimes

I forget its there too most of the time, but im usually busy when I log in and unsuccessfully set a time limit for myself lol.  If its a real emergency where you need help right away, dont bother with BB at all just get to the vet and post later.  And I think the count that shows how many views a thread has counts nonmembers too, so not everyone viewing it even can reply.

Aww, I understand. I’m usually just popping in to check posts on the forum, but sometimes I do wish we had more people in the chatroom. Almost every time I’ve gone in there there’s no one there. I think regular chat times would help encourage the chatting. But also, most people just quickly check BB when they have a few minutes and don’t hang out on here waiting for cute bunny pics to get posted like I do. Haha..

I might make a point to pop in on the chat room a little more now, though.

I hang out looking for bunny pics, usually its a quick refresh of new posts while i do other stuff, like play my games… >.>

The times I have gone in I have meet people 2x.    I also forget  I get involved in posts and posting.

We should all make an effort to be there.   When I meet people there I have a very pleasant time

It’s been impossible to schedule a regular chat because of all our different time zones, though it’s been tried once in a while.
BunnyLiz is absolutely right: in case of an emergency go first to your vet, then if you are waiting for a call back or something, you can come on line here.

But remember that any post has an ALERT button on the right side, and if you click that, you can write and all of the Forum Leaders will get an email simultaneously, so someone will be sure to see it within minutes to hours at the most. Those are checked first.

I have to say that one Saturday night I noticed a few of us on and I went into the chat room, then posted in the Lounge that I was in the chat room and asked others to come chat. Well, it was good timing I guess, because one by one members came onto BB and saw my post and came it. We started adding/updating the post and inviting people by name to get in there, and pretty soon we had about a dozen of us there for about an hour. It was really fun! Hasn’t happened since.

Darn I missed it. I pop in it every once and awhile but, alas…no one is in there and I haven’t stopped in there for a bit now. I always just see random people who aren’t really active members asking weird questions, but no one actually IN there.

I am actually not a fan of traditional chatroom settings or instant messaging. There’s something so “forced” about it…

“What’s up?” “Not, much, what’s up with you?” “Uh… nothing.” *Virtual Silence*

I’ve always been a FORUM person. You can read the threads at your leisure and respond if you want, skip over it if you don’t want to respond. And you are never MISSING anything b/c it is always right there when you login.

My husband is a member of a chatroom and I swear it is the most boring thing ever. Anytime he’s “in the room” he is just staring at the screen for 5 minutes, then he types a couple sentences, then nothing for 5 more minutes… Everyone else’s replies are just “what are doing?” “what’s up?” “have any plans tonight?”

So I wouldn’t expect to see ME in the chatroom anytime soon… lol. ;o)

I agree with Beka, it can be forced and a bit dull. But, the chatroom can be a way to get to know a particular member better without having to private message with isn’t as fluid as chat. i like the idea of scheduled chats.

I don’t like the chat room either-ask questions here-there is always someone online and then others can learn from it too
