Wow, that’s cold! Rabbits can tolerate cold better than heat and I think since he is indoors he should be fine. Does he have a little cubbhole like a cat condo he can snuggle in? That might be good to have for him.

That is seriously cold! Wow, I’m amazed that you can do that! Blankets aside… you have to get out of bed eventually! Brrr… I’ve been having problems with our money-saving temperatures and we’ve only lowered it to 66… I would think the bun should be alright, but make sure there is someplace he can snuggle and that there are no drafts in his area.

Fleece blankets also work well. Just check them from time to time to make sure they aren’t making any big holes in the fleece. My husband came home one day to find one of our bunnies completely stuck through a hole in fleece blanket, and she was totally panicked, so we learned to check the fleeces at least once a day for holes.

The $13.99 Bunny Bed at http://www.thebunnybasics.com (under chews/toys) is wonderfully cozy for reflecting their body heat through the fleece and is non toxic.  My Buddie loves his and to make sure he is really snug in it, I tucked the bed inside the $9.95 nylon & fleece Cat Tunnel (at DirectSourceInc.com) and he loves to doze away in this tunnel-bed.  He hasn’t bitten or chewed it since I’ve given them to him, and I think he finds them very comforting when he wants to stretch out between the bumpers which he lays his head on like a pillow!  Bunnies know how to get cozy and they seek cozy bedding.  Give your bunny this inexpensive luxury bed, with or without the tunnel, and watch it slumber in Seventh Heaven!

I love those tunnels but my rabbits were scared of them – I think they didn’t recognize the shape and it caused a panic.

I just got the Quiet Time Rabbit Bed from BB’s store, and it’s very similar. Nice and soft and long. I love the idea of putting it into a tunnel to get cozy. You can also leave your rabbit carrier open, with the bed inside, and the bunny could go into it to be cozy and insulated.
Bunnies like to burrow, so you can try more than one low pile, smooth towel and let him bunch it and possibly snuggle up between two of them. But let him dig it to the shape and style he wants it to be.

As the other’s said-I don’t think thats too cold-so long as there is somewhere to snuggle. And greatly admire your efforts to save on heat! We keep the house at 24c -I think that’s about 75? :p Hehehehe but it’s frigid out here so we need it super warm inside

63 degrees F is the point at which most domestic rabbits become uncomfortable.

Some will still insist on exposing their rabbits to colder conditions (much colder in some cases). Doing so is just potentially making your rabbit miserable and cutting down his or her life span. It depends on what kind of life you want your rabbit to have.
