Hmm, if you think it’s urine burn, I would recommend getting her to see a vet. Often there’s some underlying condition that would cause her to have urine on her bum (UTI maybe?) that a vet would need to diagnose before she could begin to heal. Good luck! I hope she’s ok.

well she got spayed about a month ago and her belly was shaved and its just now starting to grow back so wonder it the lack of hair could have anything to do with it ?

Is the bald patch in the same spot she was shaved? It does take a long time for bunny fur to grow back in (usually until their next shed) so it could just be that her fur hasn’t grown in yet. In that case, it could be totally normal.

I would suspect it’s just her shaved patch of hair unless you have some other clues that would make you think urine scald. Like MB said, the fur can take a long time to grow back!

I have noticed this with rabbit spays also- the area is shaved and cleaned to have a sterile surgical area.  The hair seems to grow back only the incision site quickly as the body seems to recognize this as a “wound” and is healing the incision and regrowing the fur.  Cotton’s shaved area that had no incision took 4-5 months to grow back fully.  I think her body did not recogize it as a wound or a reason to react to and regrow hair until her next shed.

I have heard other people comment on this too.  Griff’s neuter- he did not have as much shaved and prepped and his seemed to grow back quicker.  Schroeder had been neutered for about5 weeks by the time I got him and he was pretty normal coated down there by then.  Penny had been spayed about 5 months before I got her (by a different vet) and it was the same situation- she has a bald square with a line of hair where the incision was.

if it is urine scald it would appear red and irritated.   Probably the hair didnt’ grow back in yet.   some take longer than others to grow it back in.

well its not red but the hair had grown back a little but u could still c her skin so i think she might have done something to irritate it and the hair came out there was hardly any hair there but its not red and she dosnt act like it hurts i look at it every day and touch it and she dosnt seem to matter to her she dontsnt act like its even there

Coco has a thin patch where she was spayed – It was a year in August and it still looks a bit thin…

My chubby bunny Warri has thinner hair in that area too. I asked the vet about it last he went and she said its not uncommon for overweight buns to have thinner hair there.
