        A little background: https://www.binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/a…fault.aspx

All of Mr. Bunny’s bald spots – including the new one – had healed and had fur grow back. I thought that he was totally better…until today…

Today, he suddenly started to lose a lot of fur in between his eyes, where he hasn’t gone bald before. He went from healthy and furry there to totally bald in about 15 minutes. The new bald spot is huge – about 3/4 inch by 1 1/4 inches long – and has little red spots like the others. This wasn’t supposed t happen; he was supposed to be mite free by a week or two after his last Ivermectin shot.

What should I do? Should I call the vet tomorrow?

Has it been determined that he has mites and not ringworm? Ringworm does not respond to ivermectin, you would use a topical antifungal.
Did your vet ever take a skin scraping?

The vet did fungus cultures on some fur that was near one of the first bald spots. They came back negative.

Wouldn’t they need to do a skin scraping to do the cultures?

I’m sorry to here he’s still troubled by this FluffyBunny. You must be so frustrated!

Perhaps his scraping may need to be sent out to a lab – also is there a certified board specialist for rabbits that your vet can consult? My vet has one…if you PM me, I can send you a phone number – it’s in Texas but I don’t see why your vet wouldn’t be willing to consult with a vet in Texas.

I called the vet back…we’re taking him back in on Tuesday for (yet) another shot and an appointment and the vet is doing more research.
Of course, I got in a large fight with my parents in the process. Ergh…I feel so drained. This is so darn frustrating and stressful.

Strength vibes to you FluffyBunny – I would feel the same way. I’m glad your vet is doing more research too…that’s great.

mites oh how I dread those things

hubby and I has some a god while back.  I was  so worried the buns would get them  but they didnt   I has to wash everything we used with hot hot water at both  start of treatment and after treatment.   Just to be sure they didn’t come back.

                        Could this be an allergy?
