It kind of depends on the fur of the rabbit and how well he tolerates it. Felony has crazy fluffy fur, so I try to brush him out once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. It usually depends on how rough he’s looking. When’s he’s malting he gets brushed daily.

I never brush Leroy. He’s a rex, and his fur is fairly short, so he doesn’t need brushing since he doesn’t get matted. When Leroy is shedding (which seems like ALL the time) I just pluck out the loose tufts when he’ll let me. Or try petting your buns with damp hands to lift off some of the loose fur.

I think a gentle Brushing or combing can be something they really enjoy. If you give them pets and brush anywhere from once a day to once a week, they can feel groomed, and cared for by you. It’s something another bunny would do for them, so done properly they usually like it. It will help keep their fur clean and smooth. Also, it picks up the excess loose fur which they would possibly ingest when grooming themselves. That’s not too good for their tummies, so you are helping with that.

I see your one bun is a lop, is the other also a short-haired bun? I’d recommend at least once a week, maybe twice a week. You’ll want to do it more often (every day or two) during a shed. A nice thing about grooming is it gives you some hands-on time with your bunny… this is helpful for checking them for any abnormalities that otherwise, you might not see right away. It doesn’t have to be a long session, 5 minutes or so will get the loose fur out. As far as whether or not you can use the same brush… you can. Are your buns bonded? If they are, they are with each other all the time anyways. Brushing with the same brush is not an issue. If they are not bonded, you might want to clean the brushes between each bun so it doesn’t smell too strongly of the other as that may upset them.
