        Hi Everyone!

I have two bonded, fixed bunnies who are free range and normally wonderful with their litter box. Well recently I had to change some things around in my apartment, which I’m sure you know the buns did NOT appreciate, so they took revenge out on me and have peed outside their litter box in places I would not find right away (clever little stinkers).

My problem is that I have old hardwood floors and I have tried my HARDEST to remove the pee stains. They are a dark brown color now because I think the wood is just stained. I have been using Natures Miracle and PetZyme repeatedly and it’s not doing a fabulous job.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips as to how to at least lighten the stains so they aren’t as noticeable. As you can imagine the stains are not attractive.

        Thanks so much everyone!

Did you try just vinegar and water? It’s good for cleaning but not sure how it would go for lightening the stain.  It’s also good if you find other products have set a stain.  I’d apply vin+water before trying anything else regardless.  I’ve heard of using oxy clean on carpet and wonder whether it would work on wood.  Just thinking it’s the oxalates in pee that causes the colour so maybe some sort of oxygen activated product would help remove it….

Thanks, I’ll definitely give that a shot!

Worst comes to worst, you can dampen a cloth with bleach and do some spot cleaning.

I also might try baking soda and a little vinegar – make a paste and rub it in – They may lighten the stain as well
