Hello everyone, my bonded and fixed agouti couple needs a new home because they can't come with me when I move!!

Is there anyone out there who is in Oregon - preferably in the Portland area - who has room for two well-trained and super affectionate and silly house rabbits?

They are the brownish "agouti" color, Hayden is 5yrs and Hase 3yrs.  They are used to running through a whole residence, getting out their "jungle bunny" energy at dawn & dusk (ah, nothing like the mad, mad pattering of bunny paws through the house), but aren't accustomed to other pets or children. Though they do try to go up and make friends with any dog or cat that comes near, but unfortunately every one has been too keen on....not seeing the rabbits as "peers", so that was that.

They nibble your ankles and kiss your toes, leap on the bed and wake you in the morning (theoretically for food), tease you into trying to pet them and then skip away, leap with joy on your arrival home, arrival to the waking world, arrival to the room they are in.....etc.  Lots of binkying happens with these free-rangers.  Give them carrots and they will worship you (but not let you get too accustomed to it). Work tirelessly on papers or other work and they will flop nearby, keep tabs on you, roam over and encourage you with an experimental chomp on your book and a nuzzle.

I could go on more.  Basically they deserve the best (well what bunny doesn't) but I want people with time for them, room for their running at least  a few hours daily, and a willingness to give them daily fresh vegetables, to adopt them.

Can anyone give me any leads?  I will be postering Portland next, but at least this site has proven bunny-lovers to ask first.

Oh dear… if only my hubby would let me adopt a pair…. *sighs* unfortunately, he says only 1 more bunny in the apartment I’m in Hillsboro too!

Hi Susannah, obviously I can’t help you, being in another country and all, but I hope you can get them settled someplace. How much time do you have?  You obviously love these two. Is a rental contract not allow them to come with you? Lots of people have negotiated around these and may have some suggestions so that you can keep them. You may have exhausted all avenues trying to do this already but…..there may be something else yet. Hopefully

Monkeybun – “Hayden Hase” sounds like just one bunny to me…

Hehe yeah… They sound exactly liek the kind of bunny we want too, one that gives kisses and is happy to jump and play… *wistfully sighs*

Yes they are cute, but sadly a “they”.  I suppose the correct rhyming pronunciation of their names would be “Hide-in” ‘n “Haaz-in.”  ‘Hase’ just means ‘rabbit’ in German.

I would love to post a picture of them as well – only the right thing to do when asking for adopters – but none of the ones I have will this website upload successfully, so there you are.

Since you are in Hillsboro, perhaps I could ask that if you know anyone who may be allowed two bunnies – or two more – that you could suggest mine. I would be happy to email a picture to someone, the pics will load onto email.

This weekend I will be postering Portland, and then the difficult process of interviewing will hopefully begin.

This morning Hayden, our rescue who is very….well he’s like Eeyore and never feels he is loved enough….he nibbled the top of one of my feet while I was in the yoga “plough” position. And thanks to my wish to make him happy as well as stretch my back, I found a new position for my arms. Perhaps it would be called “Pet the Bunny Beside the Plough.”
