Just have a quick question to anyone who might be there. My sweet little boy got neutered today and is resting quietly. I makes me sad to see him just lying there. He’s usually up running and jumping. I wanted to know if it is normal for him to be licking(I hope not biting)himself where he had his surgery. The vet didn’t say anything about this happening and I don’t want him to hurt himself. Thank You!

It’s pretty normal for bunnies to be curious about their incisions after getting fixed. As long as you don’t suspect he’s pulling out stitches or anything, he’s probably fine. ((((vibes for a quick recovery))))

We’d love to hear some more about your little boy! What is his name?

My Monkey was good about keeping her area clean, and not tugging on stitches. Keep an eye on your bun, and make sure he’s just doign the same. Its normal for them to be quieter the first bit after surgery, just make sure he still eats and drinks and goes potty

            Welcome to BB!

welcome marrianne. Keep a close eye on that. Though they may be a little curious about that some bunnies can irritate the incision area with too much attention. If you find that he can’t keep off it then you may need to get a vet collar from him. Did they send you home with any pain meds?

Sending quick healing vibes for your little guy!

              Keep us updated.

                Feel better bunny!

It’ll probably take a couple days for him to be back up to normal energy, but the boys usually bounce back rather quick.

Thank you so much for responding to my inquiry about neutering. My little boy seems to be doing better today. His name is Pepper(breeder said he was a girl). Kept his name as Pepper because he is a mixture of black, charcoal, light gray, and white. Just like pepper. He is a mini lop and all of us just love him. He is sweet and very lovable, but when he is upset, oh boy you know it. I also want to thank you for the get well vibes. I think they helped. They did send us home with three days worth of pain meds.
