So i went to clip max’s nails today and his quick is right up to the tip of the nail- it’s been about two months since he was clipped last- but his nails haven’t grown at all. i know the quick can grow too, but how am i supposed to clip his nails if there’s no nail to clip??

Molly have 4 nails like that as well! Well, we only cut as much as we can on those nails, which is practically nothing.

Maybe try a file instead, that way you can still get a little bit off but go slowly so you don’t get the quick? If max will sit still for it

You should just shave off the end with the clippers, it might help the quick recede at least.

Maybe your bunny is just wearing away the new nail growth.    My dogs are quite active and usually keep their back nails quite short from all the running and jumping- but their fronts get long.  Most bunnies are so reluctant to walk on linoluem, hard floors, and have their pens covered in blankets that they don’t get much of a chance to wear the nails down- but some bunnies certainly could.

Filing the ends is a great idea- that will keep your bunny “in training” to getting his feet handled monthly.

After doing these suggestions, try trimming his nails more frequently. That usually makes the quick receed. Try it at least once a month this time.
