Introducing…. Lizzie!!!!
Ok, I know that I had posted about adopting Sarge, but when we went to pick him up he had already just been adopted!!!! Lucky guy, I was very happy for him, but also a little sad because I had my heart set on him.
While we were there though there was another sweet bun that stole our hearts. Her name was Lizzie, and she was a big 6 year old bun. She had been there since July. It was not her first time there. She had been adopted out by them 3 years ago, but when the 13-year old got bored of her they brought her back
Poor poor Lizzie.
Anyway, we went home but Lizzie weighed on our minds. She was even older than Sarge, and knowing that she had had a nice home and now was spending her time in a tiny cage that wasn’t much bigger than her was heart breaking. So today when my husband came home from work I was in the kitchen. I said hi when I heard him come but continued washing the dishes. He said “honey can you come help me with something” and when I went into the living room he was holding Lizzie! I was so suprised and so happy!!!!!
She is a big girl, very very chubby so I think I will need to get her to lose some weight. I have a bunch of pictures, but I need to go eat, so I’ll leave you with this one and post more later.

Ok, here’s a few more pictures of new miss Lizzie. Her and Bunny are already boxing through the fence arghgh, but her and Alistair seem to get along just fine.

What a surprise! haha I can’t believe that with Sarge – great he got a home after all. Congrats on getting Lizzie! Your hubby was SWEET to do that!!!!!!!!! She is big – and I don’t mean over weight so much – just bigger bunny. In the 1st pic I was thinkkng something looked netherland dwarf about her but after seeing the other pics – now I think chinchilla or something. Thank you for giving her a home – I think she’s going to be happy! ![]()
Congrats! She is ADORABLE!!!!!
What a nice surprise when yout hubby got home! So glad she found the perfect home!
What a nice hubby you have!! Lizzie is a beautiful girl! Congrats! ![]()
she’s a hefty little girl! haha! i love her
tooo cute.
What a sweetie!
Congrats! I wish my hubby would bring me home another bunny like that, but it’s never going to happen.
So she’s a little on the large side…just more of her to love! ^_^ Beautiful coat too, I can see chinchilla in her, definitely. And there’s something about the ears and the expression that kind of reminds me of BB’s Rucy. Very ‘take charge’. ![]()
I wish my hubby would come home with one of those every day ![]()
MB- LOL!
you’d have a bunny colony!
She’s so pretty! ^_^ and what a beautiful surprise from the hubby! So happy Sarge got a home and now Lizzie! ![]()
What a nice husband! And what a *fabulous* name…. ::ahem::
She’s gorgeous!
Thanks guys ![]()
Bunny HATES her though. They were boxing through the fence a bit, and then Bunny started getting mad at Alistair and chasing him around. This morning her and Alistair had a bit of a fight that I had to break up.
I don’t want Lizzie being here to break up Bunny and Alistairs bond since it is somewhat recent. Should I move Lizzie to another room, or should I just give it a few days and see if Bunny calms down?
I think you might want to move her since the bond is new. They will know she’s there though but maybe out of sight might be better.
Thanks Sarita. Would it be just as effective to cover the fence with a sheet or blanket so no one can see through it, or would it be better to just put her into a different room?
That’s a good question. Why don’t you try the sheet and just see how that works and if it doesn’t then you may have to move her. If the sheet does work that would certainly be easier for you and she’s already there so I say give that a try first.
Ok, I’m going to go try it now.
I hate that helping a new bun has to upset the other buns. I mean Alistair could actually care less that there is a new bun, he was grooming her through the bars. But Bunny is very possessive. She gets mad at Alistair if she sees us petting him, so I’m sure she doesn’t like seeing him with the new bun.
That is so sweet of your hubbie to bring you such a loving gift. I am sure she is going to turn out to be an added blessing and will be highly entertaining for your family.
Thats funny I thought of Nethie too. You saying she is a big girl I figured I was wrong.
yes she is a big girl. I love her color. Lucky girl . Nice surprise.
What a great surprise – must be great to have a bunny loving husband
Congrats on the new girl. Good for her that you two stopped by. Bunny just needs to get used to the idea of someone new. Once you start the bonding, I hope you find out that the first encounter was not a bad omen at all.
Aw… she’s just perfect! Congrats!
She is gorgeous! She’s like a full bodied, lovely girl version of my Hubble. She looks all snuggly!
Congrats on your new addition! She’s such a cutie! How could anyone have her for 3 years and just get “bored” of her?
I think your an envy of many Binky Bunny women ![]()
LOL LittlePuffyTail! I told my hubby that you said that, and now I’ll never hear the end of it! Too big of an ego boost LOL ![]()
