        Hello!

We let our rabbit Lucy roam our apartment 4-6 hours a day. She is caged in a dog crate while we are at work. Its decent sized, but I’d like to give her more area to excercise in. I see many neat pictures of NIC condos, and someone had mentioned in another thread that you can add the grids onto the top of the crate if you take off the original top . This sounds like a good idea, and I have a general idea of what I want it to look like. I’d most likely use plywood or particle board for the second and third ‘floors’, and use some wooden dowels to prop them up. However, I’m not sure as to how a ramp would be constructed.

Anyone have any pics or tips on the best way to do this?

What if you just purchased a dog pen to circle around it? That’s what a lot of people house their rabbits in, unless you have to keep it covered if you have cats/dogs. You can purchase some linoleum to floor it, or some indoor/outdoor carpet.

The NIC cubes also work great for making pens! You could just circle it around them crate and then it’s movable, moldable, etc!

I used shelving for my ramps, but NIC cubes are fine as well. I then zip tied carpet to it

(This is the window box I made my buns, a ramp up to it, and then fully enclosed so they can’t fall off (or jump onto my other pair’s side of the room and have a scrap!)
