Both of my guys came to me eating that rabbit mixes that most pet shops sell, its green with pellets in it.  Both are great veggie eaters (bugz more so then Anya) but neither really eat any hay.  I know these mixes are not great for them so wondering if I should change them to something else?  Should I use Oaten Chaff instead to give them the same consistencey of a mix but not a fattening?

        Any ideas would be great

I buy the Oxbow Bunny basics T pellets, and then give Monkey a bunch of veggies to nibble on besides her usual unlimited timothy hay. I stay away from the mixes sold in pet stores, as they are usually sold more for the pet owners than the pet themselves. They look like they;d be tasty, so people buy em regardless as to whether or not they are actually good for the pets.

I’m not at all familiar with this type of pellet. Can you get any timothy based pellet where you are at?

Do you know what the green stuff is? Who makes it?

Is the green leafy stuff or that fluorescent dried veggie stuff? I’m thinking maybe its a lucerne (alfalfa) hay mix with pellets added….
You could probably feed a plain pellet with a decent fibre content. Anya can certainly eat alfalfa at her age. Bugs maybe more grass hay. Anya is likely too young for full servings of veggies just yet. Pellets in Australia are lucerne based so while they are young this is ok but it’s something you really want to limit in an adults diet.

Yes, if you cannot get a timothy pellet a high fiber alfalfa pellet is fine.
