It is arriving on October 8th and I ordered two – 45 pound boxes.  In the past my rabbits have loved this – I normally feed American Pet Diner 2nd cutting which is much better than Oxbow (in my personal opinion and my rabbits).   Her shipping is costly but good hay is hard to find and I think it’s worth it to pay the extra amount.  Also having 9 rabbits I have to buy in bulk and frankly the stuff I could buy around my area is just plain awful.  I cannot wait to get the 3rd cutting in!

        From her website:

3rd Cut Timothy Hay — 3rd cut timothy hay is a gift, not a given. There are so many variables to this cutting of hay, but I don’t know of any other online company that sells 3rd cutting.

It is cut in late September or early October, and is literally the best selling hay I’ve ever offered.

It has nearly no stem, is wide and leafy. It is a soft and pliable hay that you can literally wind around your fingers like the bluegrass. It normally has a bit of brown leaf to it, but that never seems to matter to the critters! It is loved by guinea pigs, chins, rabbits and degus. It is a nice green color and will have very few, if any, seedheads. If the harvest goes well and there is no rain, I will be carrying this hay at the end of September or beginning of October.

I’ve been told by many, many customers that their animals won’t eat hay, only to find that they love this cutting and is the only one they will eat! I have found that to be true with one of my own guinea pigs as well. If you have a hard time getting your pet to eat hay, try this cutting.

Wow this product sounds good enough even for picky Mimzy to eat! Is there a website you could PM to me so I could peruse it, please?
I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting Mim to eat hay. I found out after switching him back to the awful, heavy stalked and stiff timmy hay we get here that this is what he wants, but it’s awfully sharp and (seems to me) hard to chew and I’d love to get him on something a bit softer. Besides this stuff with the huge seedheads and dust and pollen is killing my sinuses. >.<
I wouldn’t have anywhere to put 45 pounds though. Is it sold in smaller batches?

Wow I have to check that out.

I have ordered in bulk from Laith Petworks.  The shipping is the same rate no matter how much or how little I buy.  So I bought 30 lbs of mountain hay.   My buns just love it up.

Haven’t been able to get any due to the vet bill but in November I will get them some more of it.  They have a bale of alfalfa and a bag of meadow hay and oat.   I have to give them variety and they are picky too.

LEt me go see this site.

                      Sarita,

You actually convinced me to try 2nd cut – LOL.

Sammy seems to like Oat Hay and the drier stuff more than the green, so I will see how she likes 2nd cut and compare.

Ooh, I want to try this hay! My bunny loves long leafy hay so I’m sure this would be a huge hit!

How much did the shipping cost?

My buns are not at all picky about their hay (not like with their pellets!) and they both love it, so maybe I will try this anyway- give them a little variety…Thanks!
