sooooo oxbow is really expensive in my area. 12-15$ for 5 pounds. and this moneys coming out of my pocket, keep in mind  i was thinking of switching to a lower cost brand. i dont know which one though. i want something timothy based, and of good quality. what do you use if you could mention the price, if you remember it. thanks!

I think Zupreems Nature Promise comes in a large bag and is cheaper b/c of volume. It comes in a 20 lbs bag but I’m in Canada so prices will be different for me.

oxbow is cheaper if you buy the 10 pound bag too. My store has 5 for $12 but the 10 is only $18

Oxbow is really cheap if you buy larger bags online. We only have one local store that carries Oxbow and only the 5 pound bag which is $12.99. They actually only sell bags that about that size and none of them are under $10 so I guess here there isn’t enough price difference to matter to me. If the local store runs out on me and doesn’t restock soon enough I’ll go with Kaytee, but Freya isn’t particularly thrilled with it. We’ve only had to do it once, we mixed her Oxbow and the Kaytee the first few days and she’d pick out the Oxbow and not touch the other stuff til she had to. Beware picky buns. (She was also moody at me for a while with the whole ordeal.)

I would make sure to consult with your vet before changing Buttons diet due to his diabetes- your vet would be the best one to recommend a new diet as that could make a difference in his health.

Kaytee is *okay*. As long as it meets all or most of the nutritional guidelines. It would probably be better if you went with Zupreem tho.
