You could trya soft towel or a piece of fleece int here for him to curl up on, my bun loves her purple towel in her cage.

I just scoop out everything wet with pee and dump in another handfull of hay. Old hay and litter is beginning to get mixed together . . . I’m far from an expert, though.

My rabbit loves laying up high and out in the open. It trips me out because you’d think a prey animal would want to keep hidden. Maybe you could give him a box or ledge to hop up and stretch out on? They also make nice cat beds and houses I imagine a rabbit would enjoy. I’m not sure if he’d want to mark that, though. Maybe you could rub a towel on him then on the bed before you put it in his cage, so it already smells like him? Hope that helps!

Where do you get the fleece from?

Joanne’s Fabric and Wal-Mart both sell fleece. Wal-Mart sells it for $4.44/yd! Hope you have one of those store near you
 

I just add fresh hay – I don’t bother to throw any away since their hay rack is above their litterbox- so any extra they pulled out is in the litterbox and that gets dumped every 2-3 days.  They still eat some they have pulled out and it just adds more bedding/litter to the litterbox.  It does tend to tint their feet green- but that is OK as long as they are happy.

You can buy pieces of bulk fleece from a fabric store or Wal-Mart.  Around Christmas time last year quite a few stores had fleece blankets for $3-4 bucks and I bought 4-5 then.  The bunnies do chew on them some- but they look more “moth-eaten” than snagged or big holes chewed out.

I have had Cotton for 1 yr and 9 months and still have the same blankets I first started using with her (of course, now plus more blankets because more bunnies).

I use old towels to line the cage. They are easy to wash and I already had them! I did trying buying a cat bed and he just marked it up..so I suggest the same, towels or fleece. Also, you can leave the hay unless it’s icky with pee. Even then, it gets scooped out with the litter so it won’t sit in there long. Just add more for them to eat when they need it!

You can leave the “old” hay but add a handful of new fresh hay each day.

I found that soft shower mats or towels work great for my boys. They love to lay and dig on them. And if they get any pee on them I can just throw them in the washer.

I think BB should start selling little bunny fleece blankies in the store here . That would make it nice and easy *starts planning a christmas basket for Monkey*

Mimzy will only lay on his hard plastic floor. Every time I try to put anything soft in there, he digs the heck out of it, bites it and then pees on it.
Both Pip & Fiver enjoy the fancy mattresses I bought them, but Pip will leave a chew hole in hers from time to time, which kind of bothers me, but oh well. It’s what rabbits do.
Finding something that doesn’t leave stringy pieces if chewed (Pip almost choked on a long strand of bath towel she’d snagged with her teeth once) would be best. Anything they chew they can swallow, and you have to think about what might block up their insides if they get enough of it. And yet, some bunnies do very well with softies in their pens. It’s up to the bunny.
