I apologize for the numerous posts today! I just saw Brisa (my yorkie) eating her food and then Sophie went beside her, smelled the food and took a little! I grabbed what dropped out of her mouth and took out the food. Do you think this is bad? She always smelled it but never took a bite! Idk if she was trying to imitate Brisa or really liked the food very awkward.

Huh – usually bunnies don’t like the scent of dog food and will stay away from it, but I have heard from time to time about bunnies that like to eat dog food.

If your dog eats all the food at once, then you’ll have to supervise and make sure your bunny doesn’t run in to get a bite. If not, you could consider one of those things that elevates the dishes in the air so the bunny can’t get to the food dishes.

Thanks for the response I think I’m gonna have to change the food bowl to another room, I can’t elevate it because they are as short as Sophie and they wouldn’t be able to reach the bowl lol they are so small.

Also…my hubby and I almost always eat in the living room and the table is shorter than a dining room table. Every time we bring food Sophie goes crazy smelling! She gets on her hind legs and sniffs away so desperate to get a bite of something. It’s really cute but I wonder are all bunnies like that?

My bunnies are a lot like that, but usually whenever they find out that whatever I am eating is not a carrot or a Craisin, they lose interest.

You’ll want to keep her from eating dog food because it’s super high in protein and could cause issues-so although cute you don’t want to allow it But one time, don’t worry

Freya has always tried to smell and sometimes eat everything I eat too. I really thought that buns didn’t like the smell of meat so I wasn’t concerned the night I brought home a pepperoni pizza. I was sure wrong, she was sniffing at it and I kinda just ignored her until she decided to take a bite out of my pizza. I’m not sure which was worse, the fact that she did it or the look on my husband’s face when I finished my slice.

I eat after Felony all the time. We love to share granny smith apples.

Awwww how cute! I can’t do that with my bunnies, they are so strong they’d probably snatch the whole apple right out of my hand and run off with it
