hi everyone!  its really windy out, and as most of you know, buttons lives outside during summer and fall. he lives inside in spring and winter. todays been unusally cold, and now that evenings coming and the wind is kicking up… actually its dramatically ramping up to 55 miles per hour. allllllll thorough the night i hate wind. my poor bun bun   i didnt want him to get a cold from being so chilly tonight, so i did a few things to his  cage. are these good? any other ideas?

        i did:

        a. blocked off the sides(not front and back) w/ cardbaord to protect him from the wind. the back of his hutch is up against the house, and i thought if i blocked off the front too, he’d get too nervouse cause he would be able tooo see out.

        b. stocked him up w/ extra belly timber! i figured if he had more calories to burn, he could stay warmer a little easier. i gave him a few table spoons extra pellets, some leefy greens, a few freeze dried strawberries(his fav treat), and TONS of brome hay. i didn’t want him to run out. its probably enough hay to last for the next week

        c. i filled the inside of his hidey house with straw. apperantly straw traps air and keeps ’em warmer. i read that somewhere. any way i can help him, i will!

so, what do you think? feed back? tips? ideas? thankyou!  -BC

Its too bad that he can’t come inside yet, it sounds like you did as much as you could. How about a fleece blanket? You just need tomonitor to see if he is chewing big holes in it because one of my bunnies chewed a big hole in hers and got her neck stuck in it! So if he is chewing big holes its probably a good idea to replace it.
