Hey guys- I am just wondering if I should take Chubs into the vet’s office. I was petting him last night and giving his ears a good rub down like he likes and it sounded like there was a bit of liquid in them? He doesn’t seem to be in pain, and he’s been eating/pooping, all normally. He has been a little lazier but I was thinking it was because he’s annoyed that we have had to cage him a  little lately (with new bunny around). He has been a little lazier by sleeping in his box more than he usually does, but he still does come out and run and socialize and everything. There’s no sign of head tilt or anything else…I was just concerned because I am a worrier!! Sound okay?? Oh and his ears also appear normal and clean, they just sounded a little wet if I rubbed in a certain spot….

The water sound isn’t there today and he still seems perfectly fine so I think I’me aither hearing things…or paranoid…

If you are rubbing right at the base, it’s not abnormal to hear a little squishing/goop type of sound. Lop-eared bunnies can have a tougher time sometimes with cleaning their own ears so just keep an eye on them, and next time you are at the vet, just have them check for normal wax build up.

His energy level though is definitely something to keep an eye on. It’s also normal for bunnies to go through their lazy days so hopefully that’s all it was. One of the key things to keep an eye on is eating and pooping. Is he eating pooping normally?

So, though you don’t want to become an anxious worry wart, it’s good to be “calmly” cautious.

He is eating like a champ as always and has been pooping normally…if not more because of the bonding situation, poop wars and all that. If that’s all normal and he is a little lazier…what should I be worried about? I was thinking it could be because of the bonding situation and now being caged at night. He used to have free roam 24/7 but can’t again until these guys are bonded. Could the semi-forced new schedule be tuckering him out?
