Does anyone have any idea on how long you should wait before getting a female rabbit spayed after giving birth.  The babies are weaned and they are going on 8 weeks old.  I’m calling the vet tomorrow & I plan on asking them. I just wanted to see if anyone has any idea.

        thanks.

          I think I read 8 weeks.

That should be fine as long as the babies are weaned.

I think it’s fine as well. That’s great she’s going in for the spay!

I would be sure to mention to the vet how old the babies are and how long they have been separated from Lola.  If they have not been separated yet they are most likely still nursing at least at times and her milk has not dried up yet.  You will want to separate them for after her surgery anyway as I am sure she will not welcome any nursing attempts immediately post-spay.
