need advice on getting 3rd bun!

  Ok so I posted in the “how many is too many” that I am getting another bunny to bond with Bella, since Valen doesn’t seem to have any interest in her. Now I don’t know what to do. I am very happy with 2 bunnies and would love for them to be buddies. Should I just keep at the bonding and make them a big NIC cage and put them in it (supervised of course) and see what happens? They do not fight, have never showed any aggression toward eachother, in fact it’s the opposite, she wants to groom him, but he hops away.
  
  I don’t know what to do! What do you all think? Now the breeder will probably be mad at me if I decide not to adopt another bunny from her
  
  Thanks for any help/advice. I hope no one thinks I am an idiot either, I love this forum and the people here!

  If they don’t fight, its a good start. Just gotta keep at it I’d think.

  How old is Bella now? When one bun doesn’t take interest in another, it’s not necessarily bad. Ignoring and no aggression is a positive. With a new bunny, you won’t really know how well it will get on with Bella until they’re both adults. I don’t know much about them this young – I think they can be ok to begin with until puberty then you may face some challenges. When you’re taking a new bunny into the home you just have to be prepared that if bonds don’t work that you are willing to raise them caged separately. If you haven’t already, read some bonding info under the BUNNY INFO tab and also at http://www.rabbit.org to learn a bit more about it all. It’s not concrete rules but gives bit of idea about matches and trials people have experienced. When are you getting the new bunny?

  Bella is very young right? She needs to be spayed before the bond will be successful. So I would wait to make any decision until she is spayed (at about 6 months) and then one month post-spay you can truly start the bonding process between her and Valen. I don’t think adding another bun (another BABY bun) right now is a good idea at all! Especially not a girl! Two females are harder to bond than a male and female. So it’s very likely you would end up with 3 separate buns rather than a pair and a single.
  
  I wouldn’t worry about the breeder. They’ll find someone else for their baby bunnies (they *always* do, or else they wouldn’t be breeding.) Breeders don’t necessarily care WHO the bun goes to, they just want it to go to make room for the next litter.

  I actually think this is just fine. Remember that rabbits aren’t people and their relationships are different than ours. Definitely wait for Bella to get older and don’t be discouraged if he “ignores” her. Yes, don’t worry about the breeder either whatever you decide – why would she even need to know…

  Well thank you for your advice everyone. To answer questions from Monkeybun, no there is no aggression, just one bunny not paying attention to the other and JerseyGiril, Bella was 2 months old yesterday
  
  And Beka, thanks for saying that everyone doesn’t think I am an idiot, that makes me feel A LOT better! I am going to call my vet today and see about gettiing her spayed soon, so the bonding will go better. I do have 2 happy bunnies at the moment, so nothing to worry about I guess. I can still do small intro playtimes still, right?
  
  Thanks, Beka and Sarita about telling the breeder, I guess I am afraid she will be mad and won’t want to ever sell me a bunny again That’s all. Hopefully she will be understand and won’t take it personally.
