I just recently switched my rabbits bedding from carefresh (too expensive) to a combination of soft-sorbent and a new product called ECO-Bedding. ECO-Bedding is basically shredded, crinkled paper strips. Perfect for rabbits! I also like it because it is compostable and we have a composter at my school so we are helping the environment! I noticed, however, that my rabbits are not “chewers” or “shredders” — rather they are “consumers.” I started to see one rip the strips of bedding up, and then it happened – the other started eating it. Not really eating it like it was food. But one piece every now and then. Maybe a total of 2 a day, max. Is this a concern? Anyone use this bedding? Any ideas?  I like carefresh, but it wasnt a truly compostoble or environmental friendly bedding. I am trying to stick with the environmental friendly kinds. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks for your help!

I use Yesterday’s News for my rabbits litter, but I do use Eco Bedding for my other small animals and really like it! I use the Yesterday’s News made for cats, BTW because it is much cheaper and comes in bigger bags

I haven’t tried ECO bedding yet, but I’ll see if it’s local to me here. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the chewing. I’ve noticed that bunnies tend to see if something is good with their mouths. It seems like they will initially taste something new, but if they don’t actually eat it more than once or twice (and they may also eat a cecal poop on it, and get some bedding in their mouth in the process) they will stop. Especially if there are pellets or treats handy instead.
