My Maxine rabbit now has a cyst (around her mammory gland) along with her debilitating arthritis.  My vet wants to try antibiotics for now to see if it will heal – if not we are going to have to do a biopsy.  This came on very fast and the cyst is pretty large.  She mentioned a multitude of tumors and cysts that it could be (you know how vets are ) but ruled out a mammory tumor as she is spayed.   Send vibes to my Maxine rabbit please…she doesn’t need anymore problems.

Also my Pepe rabbit with chronic dental problems has just gotten more problematic.  He has impacted and elognated teeth which requires that he see a dental specialist since my vet doesn’t do anything like this (she do help with teeth on the outside but she feels better to send him to a specialist for anything under the gums).  She thinks this is why he is so grumpy because it is painful.  I am know going to give him metacam daily as well and she think if I can get him to eat his hay it may help as well (probably won’t cure it but will help) – he is not a hay eater and it may take some doing to get him to eat right (all you can do is what you can do though if they are going to be picky).  So she is going to give me the name of the specialist and she warned me this could be chronic and costly but at this point she’s not certain what the specialist will say.   She felt too she had to mention euthanasia (as a last resort of course if it affects his quality of life)…I understand why she did but he seems so healthy otherwise but I understand at this point the discomfort he may have.  I guess my next step is the dentist.  She is going to give me a disk of the x-rays and I will post those as well for you to see.  Send vibes to my Pepe rabbit as well please.

aw, Sarita, I’m so sorry to hear about Maxine and Pepe. I hope things go better for all of you. How old are they? (not that age matters, you hate to hear diagnosis like that about pets at any age)

              keep us updated

((((bunny hugs to Pepe and Maxine))))

Sarita- so sorry to hear about Maxine and Pepe.  At least your vet is good enough to admit when something is beyond her level of comfort!  And maybe the specialist will be able to cure/extract all of Pepe’s dental problems.  And poor Maxine- one thing after another for the poor sweetheart.
