Hi all, so the 2nd bun I got last month is 100% a boy, as he was goin at it with one of my sons toys!! Im still searching for a decent vet for bpth my buns to get sorted, but in the meantime, is it good to give him a toy that he can hump as much as he likes, or should I not encourage it or what?!?! I dont really know how to handle this !!

I say give him his own toy to hump. He’s just doing what comes naturally to him.

Find him a Stunt Bunny toy of his very own, he’s just doing what bunnies do. Also, keep in mind that female buns can do the same thing, so don’t be too quick to think its a boy

Coco, pre-spay had quite a “Love vibe” for my arm and I endured many humping sessions.

                  She was/is Definately a girl

Either sex can hump so unless you’re seeing the bunny’s “physical anatomy” afterwards, there is still a chance the bun could be a girl. You don’t necessarily need to go out and buy an animal for that purpose, and on the contrary, some of the attraction to the old toy may be that it smells like you guys and it smells like the house. Does your son have an old toy he will not miss? Or an old pair of slippers always seem to be a favorite.

Beka, its actually a newer one of my sons toys that the bun has taken a shine to! I dug out an old teddy for the time being for the bun to play with lol Rabbits dont seem to be that much of a common pet in my area, so finding decent vet is taking a little while!

Sally, the link below is from Rabbit Rehome website in the forums section.  It may help find a rabbit vet.  If not, maybe post on the forum there to see if anyone close to your area can recommend someone.

I’m going from memory that you’re in the UK…hope that’s right.

thanks Jersey that was a good link, it looks like there isnt any specialists in my area, closest are a few hundred mile away, although local vets say the treat small exotics, so maybe they will be okay. I need to call them and see if they work along side with PDSA, its like a rspca charity thing that helps low income families treat their pets. They did well with my cat Sasha though, so i will have to give them a call.
