Well today I decided to get my bunnies nails cut, I was too nervous to cut Thistle’s nails because he is a Kicker and his nails are black so I decided to bring them to the vet to get their nails clipped.

First off I tried to lure the bunnies into the carrier with paypaya tablets, that did not work, so I gave them the paypaya  as a distraction and tried to heard them into the carrier. That did not work either, so I ended up shoving Thistle in closing the carrier door and then shoving fern in while thistle tried to get out! (Do not worry I shoved gently). FInally they were both in the carrier!

Well At the vets they took the bunnies right away and I gave them a warning, “Thistle, the gray one, is a kicker.” I waited for a little less than ten minutes and then they were all done (yay). I asked how they did and the tech said, “Well Thistle definately kicked and it definately hurt.” I said, “Oh Im sorry.”

Once we were home I offered them some pellets as a peace offering. Thistle munched it like nothing was wrong, but Fern shot off into the condo and hid and sulked. I decided to give her some time to cool off.

I come back up to check on her an hour later and I hear the crumpaling of plastic bags and Fern is nowhere to be seen. I spot her in the box that I keep all the hay and pellets and litter. At first I thought WOW Fern jumped over the pen into there, I thought she was a very nimble bun. (the box I store things is outside the pen.) Well then I noticed that she had squeezed in a gap that I had forgotten to close after cleaning the bunny room.  I say Fern in my voice that she knows means she has done something wrong. When I try to get her out myself she hops out of the box squeezes through the barrier and hides again. I kept laughing though, it was so funny because she had been happily munching all the hay in the box, having the time of her life! It was just such a funny picture, and I thought, ‘If there is a way to escape, Fern will find it,’

Any other people have  mischiveous bunnies?

Fern? But she’s an Angel !……………lol. At least she only got into hay which is good for her. Do you find now that they’re a bonded pair that they’re more rascally? I joked mine hadn’t so much bonded together as banded together!

Any other have mischievious rabbits? I thought “Mischievious” meant “Rabbits”.

Mine escaped tonight too…by squeezing through a tiny spot that they got undone from the gate.  They only managed to break the lower clamp loose so the two grids were still held together but they were able to squeeze their butts through it!  Luckily they didn’t go far and didn’t do any damage while they were out..I wonder how long they were out for?  LOL

I seem to still be in the doghouse, its time for some serious apologies! Fern sure can hold a grudge!
