Today I was puppy-sitting for my sister so I brought her home tonight and came back a little late tonight.  When I got home, I thought I’d spend some time with Thumper so I let her out and she went to her normal spot.  Then she started thumping louder than she’d ever thumped before.

Earlier in the day, I had spent a little bit of time with the puppy but spent almost the entire day with Thumper like I normally do.  She didn’t seem to have any problems with me smelling like a puppy then, and even seemed interested when the puppy hung around her cage.  Her ears were up like she was curious and not down like she was going to attack, so I figured it was ok for a couple of minutes.

When she thumps, it’s normally because she’s scared of something she saw outside or because she’s pissed at me for trying to put her back in her cage.  So I turned the light on to look outside, nothing was there and she was still thumping.  I thought maybe she wanted some attention so I pet her on the head the way she likes it.  More thumping.  I figured maybe it was the smell of puppy on my clothes, so I changed them.  Still thumping.  Gave her a raisin, no change.  She even turned her back to me, so I know she’s really pissed.  She’s still sitting in her spot with her ears up, looking at me intently.  I figure if she’s really pissed she’d still have her back turned toward me.  I’m on the other side of the room on my laptop glancing at her once in awhile and she has not thumped in a few minutes, but I have a feeling that when I approach her she will start again.  It’s almost midnight and I need to get her back into her cage so we can both go to bed, but ahhhhhh she’s thumping at me and I don’t know what I did wrong!  Do you think she was jealous of the rambunctious puppy or still upset by the scent and will be until I wash it off?

LOL… Never mind, I figured it out. She was scared of my parents’ snoring. Usually, the door to the room she’s in is closed by the time they’re asleep blocking out the sound. They sound like a chorus when they get going. Thanks to those of you who read this though! ^_^
