Deirdra is 1 year old. She is part Flemmie and part Lop. When I got her, her ears were always up. Recently I noticed that her right ear lops down most of the time. I can’t find any injury on it. Is this normal?

            She’s Lop-Sided!  *giggles*

Srsly – it’s perfectly fine.  Ears lop or not depending on the shape of the top of the bun’s head.  If the mom and dad have different head/ear setups, it’s very likely that baby ends up with something in the middle as far as head structure is concerned.    The other ear may lop eventually, or not.

              Thanks, JR!!

I guess, I was surprised because it just started to lop now, after all this time. It used to go out to the side as if her ear was too heavy, as if it was an effort for her to lift it up, but it hadn’t lopped down all the way as it does now. I assumed that if a rabbit of mixed breed is going to lop the ears, it would happen by the time of maturity.

              “Lop-Sided”, wendy, hilarious!!
