When I got Lucy, I also got a plastic litter box with a top, thinking she’s like the privacy.  No, she didn’t.  At all.  So I took the top off and used the top for a litter box in her cage, and the bottom for her outside box.  She didn’t like that either.  So I got desperate.  She continuously peed on my bed spread, pooped everywhere without a care.  I took the box from a Xerox box I got from my dad’s office:

And I cut an entrance into it.  I put litter, hay, treats, and some mint into it.  I turned around to put away the bag of litter, and when I turned back, Lucy was in the box.  I watched as she lifted her little booty and peed on her very own in the box!  I congradulated her with a banana peice and some lettuce.  This was literally the first time she’s used the box by herself.  I’ve caught her in the act before and moved her, but she’s never used it on her own.  Hopefully I’ve found something she likes! I’m so happy!

          That’s great!
I would suggest putting a liner just under the xerox box (not sticking out so she can’t chew it) so it won’t soak through to your floor. Being cardboard, it’s going to get soaked pretty soon. Can you stock up on xerox boxes now?

Wow. I never would have considered making my own litter box. Kudo’s to you on that one!
