My fiancee got me a bunny for my 20th Birthday on the 4th (preliminary birthday present) as I’ve always wanted one.  We’re working on getting him litter trained so that he can be let loose in the apartment.  Every now and then, he’s walking around outside in his pen and he pees.  Hes not neutered yet so I think it’s just marking but, I was wondering if spraying him if i catch him mid process would help him migrate his habits back into his cage.

Congratulations on your new bunny! How old is he? When litter training, you really want to limit their space. Giving them too much space too soon will revert their newly learned habits. Have you checked the Litter training tips under BUNNY INFO tab top of page?
When you do increase his space, even just to a pen, it’s a good idea to put another litter box in that area also.

I want to say he is 3-4 months old but as he’s a dwarf, I cant really say.  I am going to be taking him to the vet soon.  I have his space limited plenty, he only has his cage, runs around it rampant like a mad…err…bunny… but I like to sort of expand his cage every now and then with a small folding fence.  That way he can run around.  It just seems like every time he comes outside his cage and his butt hits the carpet, he pees.  Sometimes a little, sometimes a full half dollar spot. I’ve tried telling him No and putting him in his litter box but he’s so small, I cant tell right befor he’s going to!   Needless to say, the carpet cleaner sits next to the fence for quick cleaning when he’s put up.

lol. I know, it’s nice to see them run about in a little more space. Maybe put down some plastic sheeting under the pen over your carpet? An old shower curtain, tarp, vinyl table cloth etc. There’s something about absorbant surfaces that just make them pee!

I think that’s going to have to be the work-around solution for this one.  at least for now.  Maybe after he’s neutered, he’ll figure it out better lol
