Today I tried to clip Chloe’s nails and it turned out really well. I held her for about 2 minutes. Then I started to massage her paws and  did the click, click, snap method. It worked and she stayed still the *entire* time. It seemed like she didn’t mind at all…or maybe she was so scared she didn’t move! I gave her a treat afterward and she didn’t even thump at me! I am so happy. I think I’m going to try again in a week or two. Her nails are really long and I just clipped off a tiny bit. I want o make sure her quick gets to a better length so clipping often should be better for her. I’m so glad!!!

Great job! Mine are afraid of getting their nails trimmed. They kind of freeze up in my arms. I think it’s preferable that they would be a little scared and freeze, than be brave and angry and try to squirm away. It’s only for a few minutes and it’s necessary, and that is good you gave a treat right after.

                Well, it’s done.

I clipped all her nails. The front paws, fine.

The first 3 toes on back paw OK, but press, press, clip didn’t keep her from getting nicked on the final toe and she bled a lot.

I actually got her to be still (in a burrito) while I finished the final foot.

I feel just awful. Morale: Do as I say, not as I do.

She growled, batted and bit. Then when I lay down looking very sad, I felt whiskers on my arms and legs. She has a nice supper in her house now, and is grooming her sore foot in her cuddle cup. I think the corn starch and damp towel stopped the bleeding pretty well.
