It doesn’t allow access to rest of article. It mainly started on agouti hair which I like to read about. It’s a pretty old article though (1936).
I have to laugh – “Oxford” “Harvard” – Names normally affliated with all things scholastic… but they referred to rabbits as RODENTS!!!!! lol Maybe they still were considered such at that time….
Sibley, I’m curious how you came to be looking into this stuff!

Yeah I doubt there are any modern articles on it… it’s been around for quite a while by now. I found it because there’s a satin rabbit at lollypop and I’m still confused about what satin rabbits are so I tried to research them and that was one of the only things that came up that wasn’t on breeding them for different color combinations.

All I remember is their coat is shiny! This from qrabbit.com

The Satin Breed gets it’s name from the special fur that makes it’s coat different from all other breeds. The Satin breed has translucent hair shafts that reflect light and give it’s coat a unique shine. The average adult weight for a Satin rabbit ranges from 8.5 to 12 lbs. They come in many colours; Black, blue, broken group, californian, chinchilla, chocolate, copper, otter, red, siamese, and white.

You can get mini satins too, 3-4 lbs. They sound really pretty.
