Well she is chewing her food. Does she eat hay?

None of my rabbits actually chew on anything other than their hay and food. They don’t necessarily need to have chew toys – most people just use those to keep them from chewing on their furniture, cords, etc…

My bunnies are not big chewers either- if I give them a willow ball or basket it usually takes them weeks or months to destroy it.  UNLESS there is treats or another food type motivator involved.  Apple branches they have chewed all the bark off within a day or 2- the balsa wood chews (from the BinkyBunny Store) are gone within days since they are fruit flavored, and if there is a treat in the ball they will chew to get it out.  Cardboard boxes usually last a couple of months and even then they are not destroyed completely- I just want to them to have a cleaner box and reinterest them with variety.  They do loves to rip pages out of their phone books though- but a phone book still lasts them months.

I bought my bunnies a Oxbow Timothy Bungalow- Large and noticed the other day that Schroeder made it into a tunnel- removing the back wall.  I was surprised since I never saw him working on it- but am happy that he was interested enough to do it.

So it really seems to depend on the bunnies personality- my bunnies do not dig or chew in their free time out either- so they just do not seem to be diggers of chewers.  They get enough chewing to wear their evergrowing teeth down on the hay, pellets, veggies and occasional offerings that they do chew.

My bun only chews on cardboard. If I didn’t have a Maze Haven for him, I don’t think he’d chew on anything at all! Does your bun have a cardboard box? That would be my only suggestion. Like Sarita and Katnip said, as long as she’s chewing on her hay it should be enough to wear her teeth down.

Ruby doesnt’ chew much at all.   She may take a chew or 4 on the willow tunnel when I let her out to play but that is about it.  She hasn’t even chewed her willow ball I keep in her house for her. 

Cotton chews his willow cube sometimes for a few and cardboard and newspaper for a few.  Thats about it

The only other things they do chew hardily are those balsa wood chews BB sales.

when they were younger they chewed a lot more. It has tapered off as they got to be adults 2 yrs adn 1 1/2 yrs

 My bunny doesnt chew anything besides his food unless it looks like it taste really good He has timothy hay which he needs to chew so I am not too worried

if she chews hay, she will be OK. hay files down teeth and keeps them from getting to long. my bun wont chew petstore toys. only the binky bunny willow basket for him! he loves it. he destroyed it in a week. got to buy another soon.
