I got a fresh new pair of trimmers for their nails with the little nail guard thingy.  Guess what !!!  I still nicked a nail.  The first one too. Dang.  I didn’t have it adjusted right so I fixed it right away.  Poor Cotton.   Ruby’s did fine though.

Glad I got a new pair they sure are sharp and Cotton didn’t jump when I trimmed his this time.  Gues we did need a new pair.

After reading that post about trimming nail  the clip clip snip and needing new trimmers now n then  sure helped.  What a difference a new pair makes.

        Was that you Petzy?

I also recently learned the “clip clip snip” technique from a House Rabbit Society video – its a very good idea! Also, new sharp trimmers do really help a lot – I had some dull ones and that made the whole situation much harder (like its easy in the first place to give a nail trim!)

wasn’t me… I did read it, too, — was it Rabbitpam??
I have the hardest time with Lint’s nails. the little fire cracker resents this procedure with all his 4 lb. might… but I’m getting used to his tricks and they don’t stop me any longer….

So may have been Rabbitpam.   Oooops.

I am afraid after giving Cotton his meds when I go to do his nails at the beginning of  next month he may be even more difficult.   I can’t imagine it being any more difficult but with Cotton  he will find a way.

Good Petzy  don’t let them fool you those buns will try to convince you they are being slaughtered.  Glad you can do your 4 lb dynamo.

                You rang?

Yep, Moo and I learned it from the same video. It’s the Press, Press, Snip technique, since you press down twice but don’t actually clip until the third time. The idea is that the bunny will yank his/her paw away if you’re on the quick. If not, bunny will just think you have a small stutter and wait until you finally cut the nail already.
