Okay so basically I went in to her today to feed her, and she has completly ripped her bedding up and she had part of it in her mouth and she was moving it behind the old mattress that is in the room with her. (it makes for a good chewy time for her aswell) But i think she is trying to nest or something coz i managed to get her into the cage while i went and got her food, and first thing she did was pick up some more hay and part of her mat thing and she just sat there with it in her mouth, so when i opened her cage she jumped out and moved it behind the mattress, all the while doing little grunts. She is usually very happy to see me when I go in there, and is no bother around my son , but today i kept him away becasue she didnt seem happy. Any ideas what is going one with her?

She is probably having a false pregnancy – this is typical with unspayed females.

There really isn’t anything you can do – it’s hormonal and there isn’t anything that can be done.

strange question, but what does a rabbit look like when pregnant? I mean I did get her without knowing anything, the person who was giving her away could’ve been because she was pregnant? Would she have been doing this the whole time ive had her, which is now a month. I just read something online that possibly if she is having a false pregnancy it can be brought on by having a female carer close whilst on thier period, is that true do you know? Sorry for all the questions, im just getting a bit concerned now that maybe she is gonna have babies!!!

Well their gestation period is about 31 days – how long have you had her exactly, do you remember?

Well, I cannot speak about the false pregnancy being brought on by that, but I have a friend who was pregnant and thought the bird she has was male, but it laid an egg (was a female it turned out) and I think that was a result of my friend’s pregnancy…one of those hormonal type things, so maybe it’s possible.

well i was goin through photos yesterday and the first appearance of the rabbit was 21st may this yr so it would’ve been 20th or 21st because we transfer photos pretty much the same day we take any.so its pretty much just over 4weeks, so i guess not i suppose.lol

Coco had two false pregnancy’s prior to her Spay, and really all you can do is wait it out. It is stressful on them ( and their humans) as I found Coco got frantic with her nest building, vaguely aggressive/territorial with me – and was very “marky” with urine.

Just like a human, they have cycles. I swore that Coco synched with Me ( bizarre, I know) but her two False Pregnancies coincided with my own cycles – and she does live in my bedroom.

It does sound like she is having a (hopefully) false pregnancy. It is pretty normal for un-spayed females to have mood swings, and hopefully you’ll have the opportunity to get her spayed soon, not only for the mood swings but for her health. I hope she’s back to her normal self soon! Some treats might help

It would be a false pregnancy unless she came into contact with a male before you got her. Do you know if that was even possible? I think from the timing it does sound like you’re safe and it’s a false one.

I dont know if she would’ve been near a male, but due to the timing I think we are safe, she seems to be better now, I even tried a trick I saw on here before about lying down on the floor and ignoring her so she would come to me, thought this would be best way to interact with her the mood she is in, and it worked, she came and sat on my back lol !

Im still learning about her and everyday I discover something new about her! Its so much fun! I gave her a full apple just to see if she could eat it herself with me chopping it up and i was fascinated to see how she did it and I think she enjoyed it more tbh ! Her fav fruit is pear and she loves broccili , its amazing how loving she is too, as when she was sitting on my back she licked me a little bit, and she always bounces over to see me when I go in her room i never knew rabbits could be like this !

She is just soo pretty!   And very similar to RabbitPam’s Sammy in colouring and shape too.
I’m sorry – I don’t remember what you decided to call her…just that it wasn’t “Mouse”.

If she pretty much has the spare room as hers, can you leave her cage open or do away with the top half? They do like to have the cage as their own space, but just thinking she may enjoy hopping in and out herself also. Watch out for shedding too. That can make them a bit grumpy.

She does have the spare room all to herself, and i rarely put the top down on her cage but I did notice last night, well more figured out, that she uses the whole cage as her toilet, this is probably bcoz she has the whole room as her sleeping area, bcoz i gave her some hay off my hand and after she finished she just jumped into the cage and went to the loo! I have made her a bed with an old duvet and stuff , not sure if she sleeps on it though, she is always jst int the middle of the floor when I go in lol she still doesnt really have a name, she knows a call tho, its simply “come on then” and she will follow!
