So over two weeks ago, I left with my daughter to go to Boston for the weekend.  Normally, Coco is super happy to see me when I come back, as I was her “primary” human.

Since that trip, I have been under serious bunny affection lock down. Nothing. Won’t come to me for pets ( even when I tap the ground) – won’t come up on the bed for nose scratches…Nothing. She is now all about the Husband.

When she sees him, she dances and prances and cavorts. She acts like he is lord god in heaven.

I assumed that after a week I would get back into her good graces….but no. We are three weeks in and still no affection.

Have I experienced a re-allignment of allegiance in Coco?

Punishment can last a really long time. Are you feeding her and doing all the primary carer things again? Try hand feeding Coco some of her vegetables, she might forgive you faster. The way to a bunny’s heart is through their tummy

My husband experienced the same feeling when he brought my first bunny home for me. (Mimzy was an abandoned bunny and was living at my husband’s business for a few months and he’d gotten used to seeing Mimzy and his two companions come running every time he showed up for work as he always gave them some carrots and lettuce.)
So when Mimzy became ‘my’ bunny, spending more time with me and away from the workplace, the hubby was so put out that Mimzy doesn’t even seem to acknowledge that he’s there. You should see the pout.
But I am the person who does all the bunnies’ feeding and cleaning and yet-sometimes even with all that work-there are times that, unless I’ve given them serious one on one time, they don’t really seem to notice me either. lolz.
Maybe send hubby off somewhere for awhile and keep Coco all to yourself? ^_^

Wasn’t it Coco that had a habit of peeing on your husbands side of the bed?

Good memory jerseygirl – Yep She was the Bed pee’er.

I tried heavy bribery last night by shaking the papaya tablets to coax her up onto the bed….and was Shut DOWN.

This morning, I tried again – First with me laying on the floor and doing the “scratch on floor and offer head rubs” move….and she hopped away from me – turned her back and looked away.

So I broke out the last of the Cranberry Oxbow treats – and lured her over. She snatched the treat and ran away.

Man – I am not really sure exactly what I did – but My name is Mud.

I finally got to rub her nose – but she did it grudgingly, waiting until the last second to do the bun melt into the loaf – which she leapt up from as soon as I stopped.

I am still prime feeder, salad shopper and maker, Litter/ cage cleaner. None of that has changed at all. I’m just being shut out on the affection front.

I think she’ll come around soon People who don’t have bunnies never believe me when I tell them how smart rabbits are, but they can remember for quite a long time when they have been “abandoned” by their favorite person. I think a few more treats and pets and she’ll be back to her normal self.

Here’s kind of an off the wall question: Did you change anything like shampoo, hand lotion or sunscreen? In other words, could you be smelling a bit different from before, something she might not like? Wearing a new perfume?

                      Good point ^.

I would give her some of her own medicine and just ignore her. She may just vie for your attention then.
