  Samson has just realized that he can jump straight out of his cage up onto the bed. Normally he is given free reign of the house except when I am at work and at night time. He is pretty well pottytrained and has only had two pee accidents in the last 3 months (both of which were next to the litterbox so I am not sure if he just missed or what). However now that he is an escape artist he has peed on the bed and twice next to the door of his cage… all 3 within the last 2 days. I am assuming that this is because he cannot get back into his cage to go to the bathroom after he escapes out.
  
  Anyways my question to all of you bunny parents is…. How high can your bunnies jump? Are you worried about them jumping up and down from high beds, desks, tv stands, tables, etc? How high are the x-pen enclosures and can your bunnies jump out of them?
  
  I really want to provide the safest environment I can for Samson and am worried about him jumping all over the place.

  You can put a sheet over the pen and that may keep him from jumping. Just clamp it with clothespins. Little rascal.

  Mine can jump pretty dang high and my X-Pen (aka nic cubes) is 28 inches high and he never tries to jump it.

  I was at the shelter making a toy for a bunny and in the process he hopped straight out of his hutch and I had to chase him across the top of all the other rabbit cages. Wascally Wabbits?

  I also have a couple bunnies that can jump pretty high. If they are jumping up onto something they can sometimes jump two or three feet. I also use a sheet clothespinned to the top of the pen to keep them in. It seems to be the most cost effective, and easiest to remove and put on again.

  I never knew Jack could jump so high because he is rather clumsy and he seem very uncomfortable with heights, but when he was in his nutty stage stalking Vivian, he jumped over his xpen. He didn’t clear the pen, but he used the top the pen to catapult himself out and onto the couch nearby. Especially if they see something to land on or launch from, then many will try it. And once they learn how, it’s all over, so the sheet idea is a good one.
