I’m still waiting for our bale of timothy and am tired of getting the store bought hay so I was looking on criagslist and found 2 places.  I called them both up, one had grass/timothy mix for $3 but I think the woman said I had to buy more than one…..couldn’t really understand her.  So I called the other place up and they wold a timothy/alfalfa mix for $4 and said I can buy one if I wanted.  Archie is 1 or 2 years old and Gracie is 4 or 5 then Parsnip our baby who’s only a few months old.  Is that mix ok to feed them?  I don’t want to feed them Alfalfa if they shouldn’t have it?  Not sure where else to look.

Well, alfalfa is fine in small amounts however I’m always afraid that they will eat around the timothy hay and only eat the alfalfa because rabbits love the alfalfa. So, if it were me, I would go for the grass/timothy mix instead.

Thanks! I was worried about buying it. The woman for the grass/timothy mix was hard to understand and when I said something about buying one she said oh no we don’t….and didn’t make much sense after that. We get this free newspaper every week and sometimes it has hay ads in there so I hope it comes today! We’ve been waiting a month for ours and it is cut but they haven’t baled it at all. My brother-in-law said we should have grabbed a bag when we were up there earlier but now it’s too late. I’m getting a bit impatient and our buns don’t care for store bought hay too much.

Good news, my husband’s coworker has hay. He’s going to check today to see if he has Timothy but my husband thinks he said he has teff and orchard so we’ll ask for a bale of each of those. I remember that orchard was one of the free gifts on binky bunny and Archie loved it.
