  So I looked for something metal in bowl shape to feed Cotton in for perhaps he has an allergy to the crock bowls.
  
  Well I took a handle off a small pot and put water in it. I couldnt’ find anything else. Then I discoverd the silver tea set. I couldn’t put water in the cup cuz it was not heavy enuf and might fall over. But I got the tray and put his food on that. He was eating like royalty like on that fancy feast commercial. Eating on crystal glass.
  
  Then my neighbor gave me 2 dishes she used to have for her cat. So back to normal dishes for His Majesty Cotton.
  
  You know I shoudl have put his corwn on and got a pic of him being served on silver lol. Spoilt boo.
  
  His lip looks a litter better today. I am hoping it goes away

  i just got max some silvery cat bowls from petsmart. he loves them! i think buns like shiny things. and good luck with cottons lip!!

  I was just using a zip lock bowl for awhile for their greens but it kept getting moved or flipped over and I finally found these nice bowls on foster & smith’s website http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm I like them because they can’t move them around, so that’s nice.

  I use the one on the left in your link, the hanger style. I found that my buns are smart enough to get the bowls out of the hanger hole. They also can unhook the whole thing from the cage. I put a zip tie through the cage & around the hanger only. This makes the bowl fit tighter so they can’t get it out of the hanger hole & they can’t unhook it either. I love those dishes I have the smallest size (I found in the bird department) in the hampster, mouse, & guinne pig cages. This size is also good for bunny pellets. A much bigger size (dog dept) is good for a salad bowl. I tried them for water but found the sloppy as the bunnies like to rattle the metal against the cage, spilling the water. Maybe a bigger not as full one would be OK for water.
  
  I use a similar trick for the litter boxes. Zip ties around a few squares of the cage (NIC cubes). Then use several small (not tiny) binder clips to clip the litter box to the zip tie loops. Presto no more tipped box but it’s still easy to remove for cleaning.

  Those bowls look nice. My neighbor gave me the knid that has some rubber around the bottom so it can’t be pushed around. As they are metal and somewhat heavy they will do.
  
  Now I am thinking of those bowls you have shown us from Fosters&Smith for Ruby. She likes to move stuff around. I gave her Cottons food bowl and I think she likes it. The other one was too tall and round she kept moving it. Could just fit her face in it. You know since I gave her Cottons bowl she doesnt’ move it anymore.
  
  Those bowls on F&S are well priced too. I like that.

  When cats have a rash/sore on their chin it is often recommended that the owner try a bowl other than plastic. It is not the the pet is allergic to plastic but the bacteria and germs that can stay on the plastic and in any scratches is causing the problem. For cats we recommend switching to stainless steel or glass- and to wash the dishes often- daily if possible- and to use a low rim bowl like a pie plate so the cat is not touching the chin on the bowl to get to the food.
  
  What type of bowls were you using before? Even if you have switched to stainless steel- if you suspect it is the bowls I would wash the bowls in hot soapy water daily.
  
  You could even go without bowls and let Cotton find his pellets in his cage (foraging)- and serve his salads on a blanket.

  I should correct myself. The smallest ones are in the tiny critters cages.
  The medium one is the one I use for bunny pellets.
  I have a bigger than their large size for the salad bowl.

  These bowls are stainless steel. His lip does look better. A little bit. Well better than it has been.
  
  I had crock bowls for him. I would wash them once a week. The water bowls I wash everyday. I can try washing the food bowls every day too. Hopefully that will help.

  This putting meds on his lip is getting more difficult. I dropped it down to 1x a day. Every morning. He struggles and puts up a fuss. He pulled my earring again this morning with his little toes. My ear isn’t doing too good. He gets away from me if I dont’ have a really strong hold on his head. Even then he kicks at me often. I tried putting him in a towel still difficult.
  
  OH how he hates this.
  
  Maybe Cotton figured I need to use neosporin too. ON my ear.

  I have ones like you’re describing I believe. Does http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produ…atid=19444 look right? I love that they are “no tip” bowls. That is actually the reason I got them. If Freya empties her bowl the very first thing she does is tip it upside down and ply with it to let us know that she’s about to starve to death. She also tips her water when she’s generally upset or angry. I hope Cotton is better about them for you and feels better soon.

  OH noo she ate it. NO Cotton doesn’t tip them over. Ruby likes to move hers but she doesn’t tip them either.
