I am planning on cleaning and unscenting the bunnnies cage today to try and put them all together (eek!). What ratio of water to vinegar should I use?

I use half and half for my bunny cleaner. However, if you really want to get a good clean, I don’t think there’s a problem with using 100% vinegar, then wiping down with a wet paper towel afterwards to get off the residue. The 100% vinegar will get out more smell which is important for your bonding purposes.

I think half and half will do the trick. You don’t want it so repulsive to all of them that no one wants to go in there.

I use half Vinegar and half water solution too, it’s perfect. It’s enough to rid odor without being overbearing; but then again our noses aren’t as fine tuned as a rabbit’s. I agree that it wouldn’t hurt to use 100% solution, I use it during big bunny and cat litterbox soakings. I would just make sure you wipe it down good, maybe even rinse with some water after (if you can) and let it air dry out some.

Oh I must have been ignorant, I have always used 100% vinegar, maybe that’s why my room reeks of vinegar….

LOL Moonlight Wolf! We’ll just send you some oil so when you feed a serving of greens you can enjoy it.

I was always afraid that pure vinegar would burn their little feet and noses.
I always use 50/50…but with the heat in our house, I think it turns the vinegar more sour than it normally is. >.< So my bunnies don't really like it, even if I do clean it up well.
A good soak and rinse on a pen, plus some air drying to boot should get things freshened up well!

I clean their litterboxes with straight vinegar and once the calcified urine spots come up I wash it with water.  Then dry it and they seem ok with it that way.
